Internships Hamline currently offers international internship opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing and Mumbai. We can also advise students regarding our affiliated provider's internship programs in many other countries around the world. Undergraduate students may apply for LEAD/LEAP credits for internships. There is unfortunately no credit option for graduate students. For Hamline run internship programs, applications are accepted on a rolling basis and there is no official deadline. Yet, students are encouraged to apply about 6 months in advance of their intended internship start date to ensure adequate time for the application process, interviews, visa processes, etc. If interested in a non-Hamline run program, students should check for application deadlines as they vary by program. Due to the individualized nature of internship programs it is best to make an appointment with the Global Engagement Center staff to discuss your specific needs. If you have any further questions please contact the Global Engagement Center. Application Process: Search internship programs (we encourage you to first look at Hamline's featured programs which are indicated by a yellow star as Hamline financial aid is applicable to these programs). Review internship requirements. Meet with a study abroad advisor. All students applying to internship programs must meet with an advisor prior to submitting application. Complete Hamline’s online study abroad application before the application deadline. Once you submit your application, your student account will be charged a $350 non-refundable study abroad fee. After the application deadline you will receive confirmation of acceptance by email from the Global Engagement Center. Complete the application to your specific study abroad program. You will receive information about this in your acceptance packet. You must provide a copy of your application to the Global Engagement Center. After Acceptance: Apply for your passport and visa, if needed. Schedule mandatory Travel Clinic visit. Participate in pre-departure meetings offered by the study abroad program provider.
