• Certification Request for Veterans' Educational Benefits

    Please submit the following form if you are a student planning to use VA education benefits while at Hamline University and need your enrollment certified with the VA.

    Please note, completing this form does not complete the application to use benefits with the VA. You must also apply with the VA to use your benefits. You can read more about how to do this at www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/apply.asp.

    By submitting this form, I understand and acknowledge that:

    • My enrollment will be submitted to the VA each term I am registered unless I request in writing not to be certified a specific term.
    • Hamline must share my net tuition and fee charges for each term with the VA if I have Chapter 33 benefits.  
    • I must also submit my DD-214 and Certificate of Eligibility to Hamline’s School Certifying Official.
    • I must apply to use my benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs along with this request.
    • In order to receive Yellow Ribbon funds (for those 100% eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill) I must submit a separate paper application. This application can be found at www.hamline.edu/faforms.
    • In the event of a full or partial withdrawal, VA and Yellow Ribbon payments (including book and housing stipends) may be partially or fully prorated and I may owe money back.
    • Classes completed with an “F” grade may cause VA payments (including book and housing stipends) to be partially or fully prorated and I may owe money back.
