Recognition of Student Affairs Staff and Hamline Community Staff or Faculty

Recognition in Student Affairs will occur in three forms:

Shout-outs: Informal recognitions that occur at any All-Staff meeting, and do not require a prior evaluation of merit.

Acknowledgments: To recognize Student Affairs Staff members who have reached a major milestone in service to Hamline, have presented at a national or regional conference, have received an award or taken on a leadership role within a professional organization, or have created an impactful program or service to Hamline students beyond the requirements of their regular job duties.  Acknowledgments would be determined by the Dean of Students, and would occur on 3 occasions throughout the year: at the Student Affairs All-Staff Retreat in August, at the December Holiday party, and at the end of the year gathering in May.

    Awards
: The two major awards granted by the Division each year would include the Trish la Plante Award, and Commitment to Student Development Award granted to an external Hamline staff or faculty member who has provided noteworthy support for the mission of Student Affairs.  Recipients for both awards would be decided by a single committee, and the awards would be given at the end of the year gathering in May.
