    What is SMART?

The term SMART stands both for the interactive touch screen white boards made by SMART as well as the software Notebook 10 that enables the features of the SMART boards.

    Why SMART?

Today's college or university student is a millennial learner - someone who has grown up with technology and is accustomed to it in every facet of life, including their school experience. That includes their classroom, where students have had years of exposure to the Internet, interactive whiteboards, audio and video recordings, and more.

Hamline University's School of Education educates both pre-service and in-service teachers who will teach in classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards. Today's and tomorrow's teachers will be expected to provide instruction using touch enabled whiteboards.

    SMART at Hamline University

Hamline is now a SMART campus site, meaning that several classrooms have been equipped with SMART interactive whiteboards as well as with a SMART Symposium interactive pen display. Hamline Classrooms equipped with interactive SMART Boards are:

    • Bush Memorial Library Computer Lab 10
    • Bush Memorial Library Room 302
    • East Hall Room 12
    • LAW Moot Courtroom
    • UTI 31 (Minneapolis Campus)
    • UTI 32 (Minneapolis Campus)

Hamline classrooms equipped with a Symposium are:

    • Giddens Learning Center Room 100
