She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Bethel University and a M.A. in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota. As the Career Counselor, Christine helps students recognize skills and interests, develop resumes and cover letters, effectively interview, create job search strategies, plan for graduate school, and other related issues. Christine enjoys cooking, the outdoors, and exploring the twin cities by foot or bike. Erin Haglund, Practicum Counselorehaglund01@hamline.edu651-523-2259 Erin is with the Career Development Center this year completing her training in counseling. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from St. Olaf College, and is working towards her M.A. in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota. As the practicum counselor, Erin assists students with major and career decision-making, developing resumes, job search strategies, and other related concerns, and has a special interest in working with student athletes. In her free time, Erin enjoys running, playing and watching sports of all kinds, and exploring the parks of Minneapolis. Lauren Kavan, Internship Program Director email@example.com 651-523-2054 Lauren joined the CDC staff in March 2006. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Macalester College and a M.A. from the Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology Program at the University of Minnesota. As the Internship Program Director, Lauren helps students find internship opportunities related to their career interests. She also assists students with the internship registration and paperwork processes to obtain credit for their experiences. Lauren spends her free time on home renovation projects, competing in monthly game nights with friends, and going for walks around the Twin Cities. Maichue Khang, Programming Coordinatormkhang01@hamline.edu651-523-2703 Maichue joined the CDC staff in August 2014 and has worked at Hamline since 2013. She earned a B.S in Human Development and Family Studies with a Minor in Sociology. As the Programming Coordinator, Maichue coordinates events and programs and works along side with her colleagues on recruitment. She also coordinates and administers the Great Lakes Career Ready Internship Grant. Maichue enjoys spending time traveling, cooking new recipes and bonfires. DeeDee LeMier, Employer Relations Specialist firstname.lastname@example.org 651-523-2654 DeeDee joined the CDC staff in June 2013 and has worked at Hamline since 2007. She is a Hamline University alumna, having earned her B.A. in Communication Studies, with a focus in Organizational Communication and minor in Business Management. As the Employer Relations Specialist, DeeDee’s responsibilities center on developing and maintaining relationships between the campus community and employers. When not working at her alma mater, you will find her seeking out the small town corners of St. Paul: attending drive-in movies, cheering on the Hamline hockey teams or hosting sledding parties with neighbors and friends. Terry Middendorf, Director email@example.com 651-523-2302 Terry has been with the Career Development Center since August 1998. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Morris and a M.A. in Counseling from Truman State University (Northeast Missouri State University). Terry is responsible for the strategic direction of the CDC, office management, new initiatives, campus relations, as well as co-leading the Practice Interview Program. He enjoys golfing, working out at the gym, horror movies, and has never missed an episode of Survivor! Joan Ostergren, Senior Career Counselor firstname.lastname@example.org 651-523-2882 Joan works part-time and has been with the Career Development Center for over 15 years. She earned a B.A. in Religion from Carleton College, and a M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the Counseling and Student Personnel Program at the University of Minnesota. Joan is a Licensed Psychologist and has also spent many years working in private practice. Joan works individually with students to assist them with career decisions and job search. She also co-leads the Job Search Group and is involved with other CDC events. Joan’s favorite activities include: gardening, wilderness canoeing and backpacking, running and cooking. She is also an active volunteer with the YMCA and Carleton College.
