Sherrie Fernandez-Williams, Bridges Scholars Program Director
Sherrie joined the CDC in July 2008 to manage all facets of the Bridges Scholars program which includes, curriculum development, marketing, and teaching. She has earned a B.A. in Organizational Studies from Bethel College and an M.F.A. in Writing from Hamline University. Along with her work in the CDC, Sherrie loves creative prose, salsa dancing, and developing her knowledge to further serve Hamline students.
Christine Jensen, Career Counselor
Christine joined the CDC staff in August 2012. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Bethel University and a M.A. in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota. As the Career Counselor, Christine helps students recognize skills and interests, develop resumes and cover letters, effectively interview, create job search strategies, plan for graduate school, and other related issues. Christine enjoys cooking, the outdoors, and exploring the twin cities by foot or bike.
Lauren Kavan, Internship Program Director
Lauren joined the CDC staff in March 2006. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Macalester College and a M.A. from the Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology Program at the University of Minnesota. As the Internship Program Director, Lauren helps students find internship opportunities related to their career interests. She also assists students with the internship registration and paperwork processes to obtain credit for their experiences. Lauren spends her free time on home renovation projects, competing in monthly game nights with friends, and going for walks around the Twin Cities.
Janaya Martin, Programming & Office Coordinator
J
anaya joined the CDC in September 2004. She is responsible for managing overall front desk operations and supervising student workers. She handles the administrative and promotional aspects of all CDC events and programs and coordinates the Practice Interview Program. She also assists with Alumni recruitment for Piper Connect, formerly known as the Career Advisors Network. Janaya enjoys reading, volunteering, and spending time with her children.
Terry Middendorf, Director
Terry has been with the Career Development Center since August 1998. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Morris and a M.A. in Counseling from Truman State University (Northeast Missouri State University). Terry is responsible for the strategic direction of the CDC, office management, new initiatives, campus relations, as well as co-leading the Practice Interview Program. He enjoys golfing, working out at the gym, horror movies, and has never missed an episode of Survivor!
Joan Ostergren, Senior Career Counselor
Joan works part-time and has been with the Career Development Center for over 15 years. She earned a B.A. in Religion from Carleton College, and a M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the Counseling and Student Personnel Program at the University of Minnesota. Joan is a Licensed Psychologist and has also spent many years working in private practice. Joan works individually with students to assist them with career decisions and job search. She also co-leads the Job Search Group and is involved with other CDC events. Joan’s favorite activities include: gardening, wilderness canoeing and backpacking, running and cooking. She is also an active volunteer with the YMCA and Carleton College.
Oyuna Uranchimeg, Technology & Systems Coordinator
Oyuna joined the CDC staff in August 2002. She earned a B.A. in Management & Economics from the National University of Mongolia. Oyuna manages Hamline Career Link, the Career Development Center's online job posting and campus recruiting system and the CDC website. She also assists the Director with the office budget and is responsible for data collection/reporting systems and medical credential files. Oyuna enjoys watching Soviet era Russian movies, and listening to Italian songs.
