    Mission of Hamline University

    To create a diverse and collaborative community of learners dedicated to the development of students' knowledge, values, and skills for successful lives of leadership, scholarship, and service. 

    Statement of Purpose

    The purpose of Student Affairs is to offer inclusive opportunities and diverse services that foster the development of the whole student.

    Division Overview

    Student Affairs Division coordinates with a variety of campus offices that provide programs and services to students. It has the primary responsibility to make the out-of-classroom environment an integral aspect of student’s education. This is done through the work of Student Affairs professionals who understand the development of college students and are committed to enriching the lives of Hamline students. Alan Sickbert, the Dean of Students, oversees this area.

    The following offices and services are comprised of professionals who anticipate, solve, and manage the daily activities of the students that constitute their area of responsibility in Student Affairs:

    Campus Life Center (Orientation and First-Year Programs, Residential Life, Student Leadership and Activities, and Campus Recreation)

    • DeeDee LeMier has joined the Career Development Center (CDC) as the Employer Relations Specialist. LeMier is a 2006 Hamline graduate and has worked at Hamline since 2007 in the admissions department. 
    • Hamline and Cities97 will announce the Teacher of the Year contest winner on Tuesday, June 18 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Park Tavern.
       
    • In collaboration with the Maya Society and the Minnesota Science Museum, Hamline University is proud to host a series of monthly lectures and workshops that coincide with the exhibit, MAYA: Hidden Worlds Revealed.
