Taylor and Nocella Present

The Center for Excellence in Urban Teaching's Naomi R. Taylor and Anthony J. Nocella III recently provided a session titled, "Up Against the Wall" for the 2011 Adult Basic Education (ABE) Support Services Conferences at the Minnesota Department of Education.

This session was dedicated to critically addressing racism perpetuated within, but not limited to media, schooling, criminal justice, social norms, religion, family structure, and music. Participants left this workshop with a working definition of racism and other terms, while also critically reflecting on their own experiences, and leaving with a commitment to challenge racism in their life.
