nocella, anthony main

Dr. Anthony J. Nocella II, visiting professor in the School of Education, presented on "eco-ability", a theory he founded, at the 11th Annual North American Conference for Critical Animal Studies. More than 13 countries were represented at the conference which was hosted at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Similar to eco-feminism, eco-ability an intersectional interdisciplinary theory that interweaves environmentalism, animal advocacy, and disability studies together. Later this year Nocella will have a book coming out dedicated to this theory. The book is co-edited with Dr. Judy Bently and Dr. Janet Duncan and will be published by Peter Lang press.
