Congratulations to Amanda LeBlanc (3L) and Jamie Tester (2L) of the Hamline Law School who won the American Bar Association (ABA) section of Dispute Resolution Regional Competition for Mediation Representation at Marquette University last weekend.
With the win, the Hamline team earned the right to compete at the 2012 National Representation in Mediation Competition held in conjunction with the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution Annual Conference. This year’s event will take place in Washington, D.C., in April.
LeBlanc and Tester faced competition from Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin at the regional event. They will join nine other regional championship teams from throughout the country in competing at the national finals.
This marks the third-straight year that Hamline has had a team advance to the mediation competition’s national stage.
In this competition, law student teams role-play as attorneys and clients to model appropriate preparation for and representation of a client in mediation.
