Daniel Campbell, communications assistant at the Wesley Center and graduate of Hamline University’s master of fine arts in writing for children and young adults program, led a writing workshop for alumni on January 6. Part of the Creative Writing Program’s Alumni Weekend, the workshop focused on exploring how writers can use their real-life experiences to bring sensory details into their work.
Last summer, Campbell helped organize a small group of alumni to plan and facilitate alumni weekends at Hamline. As a result, alumni weekends will now be offered in both January and July, going forward. Both Campbell and fellow alumnus Andy Cochran led sessions over the weekend. Other presentations during alumni weekend were delivered by agents, visiting authors, and faculty.
