• The Hamline JD

Two outstanding pathways to a law degree

    Full-time Weekday JD

Students participating in the full-time Weekday JD may complete law school in six academic semesters. Under the full-time program, you register for a minimum of 12 credits per fall or spring academic semester. During the first year of law school, you typically divide into two sections of approximately 60-70 students. These sections are further divided into smaller groups for Legal writing classes.

    Part-time Weekend JD

The part-time Weekend JD is an innovative scheduling option that works well if you have a career, a family, or other time commitments. Designed for those seeking a quality legal education in a weekend format, the weekend JD has limited enrollment and admission is selective. You can take full advantage of everything our full-time students experience, and required courses are taught by experienced, full-time professors. Most Weekend JD students graduate in just four years.

We also offer joint-degree programs if you want to pursue your JD along with a master’s degree in business administration, public administration, fine arts, nonprofit management, or organizational leadership.
