Supporting your professional goals before and after graduation

Your work with Career Services begins in your first semester and continues for as long as you need our support.

    1L Comprehensive Orientation

Through a comprehensive four-part orientation series in your first year, you learn about our services, resources, and what to expect, and is expected, in a legal career, professional development, and job searches. You also receive our Career and Professional Development Guide, which provides an overview of our services and available resources.

    One-on-One Feedback

Within your first semester, you develop your law resume and receive feedback to polish it. The following January, you receive further one-on-one feedback as you begin networking and practicing legal job interviewing skills at our Mock Interview Marathon - one-on-one mock interviews with attorneys.

    2L Guided Planning

In your second year, you fine-tune your "Career and Professional Development Plan," adjusting it as necessary to ensure you are obtaining the pre-graduation experiences you need to meet your career and professional development goals.

    3L Transition Meeting

You meet with an advisor for your one-on-one 3L Transition Meeting prior to registering for your final semester of law school.

The Career Services Office also supports your career development through:

    • Events and Reimbursement
Each year, we hold or promote hundreds of programs, networking events, and information sessions. We also provide up to $25 a month reimbursement for costs associated with informational interviews, up to $10 a month to offset costs associated with off-campus networking events, and monetary assistance for attending job fairs and conferences. You can access event information, view the Reimbursement Policy, or RSVP for events through Symplicity.
    • Weekly Updates and Opportunities
Stay up-to-date on networking, scholarship, informational, and other opportunities through our weekly newsletter.

    Alumni Services

The Career Services advising and Symplicity resources are also available to you after you graduate. You are welcome to use our services and contact us for support at any point in your career. You can also learn about free CLE events for Hamline Law alumni and other networking opportunities through Law Alumni Relations
