    Nancy Lochner

    Lochner joined the Career Services staff in 2000, after practicing franchise litigation at a boutique firm in Minneapolis. She continued to work as a contract attorney at the firm until 2004, when she and her husband had the first of their two children.

    In addition to overseeing all aspects of the Career Services Office, Lochner advises students and alumni, and coordinates and presents numerous programs on career and professional development topics. She is also active in the greater legal community and has participated and held leadership roles in, and presented to, various professional organizations.

    A Minnesota native, Lochner has a bachelor's degree in child psychology from the University of Minnesota and a JD with honors from Hamline Law. While in law school, she clerked with a family law firm, as well as the franchise law firm she later joined as an attorney. She also volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem, served as an associate and associate editor of the Hamline Law Review, was awarded Honorable Mention Best Oralist on the National Civil Rights Moot Court Team, and received a Minnesota State Bar Association Excellence in Employment Law Award.

    Lochner is licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota (1998-present).

    Melissa Gregory

    Melissa Gregory joined the Career Services Office in 2010 as a career advisor and became assistant director in 2011. She provides career and professional development services by mentoring and advising students and alumni, creating and implementing professional development programs, events, and initiatives, as well as developing and updating professional development resources. 

    Gregory graduated from Augsburg College with a psychology degree and later graduated cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law. Throughout law school, Gregory worked as a staff member, assistant editor or editor on the William Mitchell Law Review. During law school, she clerked at the Ramsey County Attorney's Office where she assisted in drafting the Ramsey County Smoke-Free Restaurant Ordinance. She also clerked at a mid-sized downtown Minneapolis firm and ultimately joined this firm to practice civil litigation in professional liability, insurance coverage, and commercial matters. She previously practiced as a bankruptcy and estate planning attorney at a small Minneapolis-based firm. Prior to becoming an attorney, Gregory proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and the Minnesota Army National Guard.

    Gregory is licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota (2006), U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota (2006), and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit (2006)

    Shauna M. Verheyen

    Shauna M. Verheyen joined Hamline Law as a career advisor in 2011, mentoring and advising students and alumni in their career development. Previously, she represented individuals and families in products liability, personal injury, and wrongful death cases in all phases of litigation including appeal. She also served as an alumni mentor for first-year law school students.

    Verheyen graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in criminology and from William Mitchell College of Law with cum laude honors. During law school, Verheyen served as a mentor for legal writing students, clerked at a local medical malpractice defense firm, and volunteered through the Minnesota Justice Foundation. She also earned the Burton Legal Writing Award nomination for the best brief in her legal writing class and the CALI Award for UCC Sales. 

    Verheyen is admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota and the United States District Court District of Minnesota.
