    Career Services

With you every step of the way

Hamline's Career Services Office is in your corner from your first day in law school, through graduation and beyond. Our advisors are licensed attorneys with practice experience, who have been in your shoes. Informed by our experience, we created a comprehensive career services program to help you achieve your career goals.

Whatever career path you choose, rest assured our advisors provide you with resources you need, and leverage their strong relationships with key employers to contribute to your success. Our graduates have a long history of hitting the ground running in law firms of any size, as well as in public interest and government positions.

    Individualized attention and online resources

You are partnered with one of our advisors from the time you enter law school until you are well on your way to career success after graduation. Your advisor reaches out to you regularly to make sure you have the support and individualized attention you need. In addition to our staff, two online resources facilitate interaction with the Career Services Office and can aid in reaching your professional goals:

    • HUSLink Mentor Program, which connects you to a valuable professional community of more than 240 advisors and mentors (both in and outside of Minnesota). We also can introduce you to alumni who do not have HUSLink accounts.
    • Symplicity is our career services database accessible to employers, students, and alumni with a Hamline-issued ID. Here you can research available positions for JD students and graduates, request an appointment with a career services advisor, and explore resources in our Document Library. Login credentials are provided upon matriculation and access is granted to the job bank following approval of your resume in your first year. You can also tap into career resources of other U.S. law schools, simply by completing this Reciprocity Request Form (PDF). Students and graduates from other schools can review our Reciprocity Policy (PDF).
