Hamline University Athletics Director Jason Verdugo was selected as a batting practice pitcher for the All-Star Game along with former Twin Brian Raabe and Minnesota Twins batting practice pitcher Erik Lovdahl. Hamline alumni Nate Dammann '04 was chosen to be a catcher for the All-Star Home Run Derby.
