The Hamline School of Education’s Adult Basic Education Teaching and Learning System (ATLAS) has been awarded a grant from the Minnesota Department Education for the seventh year in a row.
Teaching adults is different from teaching children yet many adult basic education professionals do not have access to training and resources that are applicable specifically to adult education. ATLAS provides Hamline University faculty expertise in adult and ESL teacher education to provide best practice resources and professional development opportunities for adult basic education teachers, staff, and administrators across the state.
The Hamline School of Education ATLAS program will be hosting two large events this coming year along with a number of smaller training events. On Friday, September 19 ATLAS will host the Math Institute, an event for all mathematics adult educators. In March 2015, ATLAS will host a Metro Region event for all adult educators.
