Basford Presents

Assistant professor in the School of Education, Letitia Basford, and Muffet Trout, a professor from St. Thomas, recently presented at the Philadelphia at American Educational Research Association Conference where they shared numerous pedagogical insights for how to model and teach cultural competence effectively to students. Basford and Trout have found that collaborative self study can be used as a powerful tool to transform one’s teaching practice. That can include studying one’s own pedagogy, observing another teacher’s practice and reflecting on what was personally learned, and sharing these reflections and “a-ha” moments together.
