Hamline University School of Law Professor Marie Failinger , J.D., LL.M., and her fellow co-founders of the Infinity
Project, have been named an Attorney of the Year for 2013 by
Minnesota Lawyer magazine for their
efforts to bring gender equality to the Eighth Circuit Court of
Appeals. Failinger and Judge Mary Vasaly, Jeanette Bazis, and
Lisa Brabbit were recognized at an official ceremony on February 20,
The Attorneys of the Year Awards
annually honor the best in the legal professional. The 2013 award winners come
from diverse practice groups including criminal law, litigation, public
service, intellectual property and in-house legal departments.
According to the magazine, this
year’s attorneys were chosen based on their leadership, involvement in major
cases or other newsworthy events, excellence in corporate or transactional
services and public service. The
nominations were submitted by judges, bar groups, clients and fellow attorneys.
