A group of Hamline MBA students, School of Business Dean Anne McCarthy, and Professor Dan Lehmann, are in the midst of an international seminar focusing on international finance in Dubai, the capital of Islamic finance. On-campus classes began January 6, leading to this week-long trip that integrates lectures with hands-on visits to businesses in United Arab Emirates. There, students experience first hand one of the most rapidly growing cities and economies in the world. The seminar is a four credit graduate course in the international management and finance MBA concentrations. The seminar focuses on topics such as foreign direct investment, international capital structure, and international financial markets while specifically examining the economy of Dubai. Students met with executives and business professionals in finance and the wider business community, as well as received an insider look at locations such as the Dubai stock market and DP World, the largest port between Rotterdam and Singapore. See photos from the trip on the Hamline School of Business Facebook page, and read more about this international seminar on the Hamline website.
