Hamline Bookstore's Purple Onion Book Club was recently the subject of the feature story on the Campus Marketplace Newsletter
put out by the National Association of College Stores. Campus Marketplace, a national newsletter which goes out to college retail stores across the nation, published a full story
and interviewed Hamline University Bookstore manager, Melanie Farley, about the bookstore, the book club, and its famous namesake. Before becoming the Hamline Bookstore, the location was home to the Purple Onion, a pizza parlor where Bob Dylan played in 1959 - 1960.
The book club, which is open to the entire Hamline community and to the public, has also garnered attention from the Saint Paul publication, The Monitor
, as well as the Star Tribune
