New University Events Director Named

Tracey Peters has been named Hamline's new director of university events within the Development and Alumni Relations Department. Peters is a Hamline alumna, CLA ’04, and has worked at Hamline since 2011, first as an undergraduate admission counselor and most recently as the marketing and event planner. Before returning to Hamline as a staff member, she worked as an executive team leader and store team leader at Target Corporation, with responsibility for 400 employees and 13 executive reports.

University events was recently brought into the Development and Alumni Relations Department and the process of hiring an event coordinator to fill the role Peters previously held will begin soon. Together, these two roles will be tasked with strategy, planning, coordination, and execution of a multitude of important Hamline events including Commencement, Convocation, Honors Day, undergraduate and graduate admission events, development events, the university’s State Fair presence, and the staff and faculty holiday party to name just a few. 

The hiring committee for the director of university events was comprised of Tony Grundhauser, Milyon Trulove, Shawn Skoog, Betsy Radtke, Carrie Albers, and Brian Johnson. From a pool of 100 applicants, three candidates were identified to interview for the position. Peters was the unanimous choice for the position.
