Hamline Law is pleased to host the 2013 MIPLA Cup Competition on campus in the Moot Court Room Thursday, March 7. The competition marks the sixth annual tournament between teams from the four local law schools.
The Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) sponsors the annual tournament to provide an opportunity for students to practice their oral arguments before the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition - Regional Competition.
Six teams will participate in this year’s competition, two from Hamline Law, two from William Mitchell College of Law, and one each from the University of Minnesota Law School and the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
The competition begins at 5 p.m. with preliminary-round arguments. The two highest scoring teams advance to the final round of oral arguments, which will take place in the Moot Court Room at 6:30 p.m. The winning team will be announced around 8 p.m., and a reception will follow.
Judging is provided by MIPLA members from Twin Cities law firms and companies, and the judges are invited to stay for the reception and network with the students.
