The Oracle Wins Awards at Collegiate Journalism Convention

The Oracle, Hamline University's student newspaper since 1888, took home several awards from the Associated Collegiate Press Best of the Midwest convention in Minneapolis on February 10. Best in Show awards included first place for the J-Term magazine, beating out contenders including the University of Minnesota's Minnesota Daily, and fourth place for four-year weekly tabloid. Individual awards went to senior Josh Epstein who earned first place in the sports story category, and Hannah Porter, The Oracle's managing editor, who won fifth place in that same category. Opinion editor Steven Rotchadl won fifth place for editorial and fourth place for feature story.
