Hamline School of Law’s mock trial team of Whitney Koprowski
(2L) and Jamie Olson (4L Weekend) advanced to the semifinal round of the
National Trial Competition regional tournament, which was held February 7-9. The
four local law schools co-hosted the regional tournament, which featured teams
from Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Twenty-four teams
representing twelve different schools competed. Koprowski and Olson made it to
the final four before losing a split decision to a team from Washington
University in St. Louis School of Law – a team that went on to advance to the
national competition.
The duo was coached by Hamline School of Law
alum Katie Lockwood, JD ’11. Judge Jim Morrow also advised the team. Many
Hamline School of Law alumni volunteered to judge the competition, which took place at
Hamline University’s Minneapolis campus. The National Trial Competition is
considered to be one of the premier law school trial competitions in the
country, and is sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Texas
Young Lawyers Association.
