How sweep it is. Jordan Verleye had a goal and an assist to lead the Hamline women's hockey team to its first two-game winning streak of the season with a 4-1 win over Marian at Fond Du Lac, Wis. Coupled with Friday's 2-1 win, HU is now 3-7-2 overall heading into the holiday break.
Chelsea Koehn, Haley Johnson and Lexi Magaard also scored for Hamline, which rallied from an early 1-0 deficit. Sam Stark had a successful season debut in goal, recording 24 saves for the win.
Verleye started the comeback with a power play tally midway in the first period that tied the game at 1. Koehn, who scored both goals in Friday's win, untied matters with a shorthanded effort late in the second period.
Johnson and Magaard put the game out of reach with goals in the first 10 minutes of the third period.
Hamline now takes a healthy rest for the holidays. They do not play again until Sunday, January 13 when they host Concordia (WI) at Warner Coliseum in a 2:00 p.m. game.
