Chelsea Koehn (27) continues to wield a hot stick. The first year Michigander took over the team lead in scoring and points with a pair of goals as Hamline's women's hockey team claimed their second win of the season, 2-1, over Marian in Fond Du Lac, Wis. Friday night.
The Pipers will go for the sweep with a 2:00 p.m. rematch Saturday.
Koehn, who now has five goals and four assists for the season, opened the scoring, finishing off a three-way play with Brianna Simon and Jordan Verleye 14:37 into the game.
The solo score held up until the third period when the home team tied the game. But Koehn came back for an unassisted power play goal at 11:43 and HU goalie Sarah Schneekloth took it from there as HU improved to 2-7-2 on the season. Schneekloth had 18 saves for the game. The Pipers outshot Marian, 28-19, for the game.
