Men's Hockey Hosts Raiders In Final 2012 Matchup

Holiday shopping will have to wait until next week for the Hamline men's hockey team. The Pipers can give themselved an early gift when they face Milwaukee School Of Engineering Friday, December 14 at the Vadnais Heights complex. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

HHU is on the prowl for their first win of the season. They fell to 0-11-2 after a spirited effort came up short in a 2-0 non-conference loss to league co-leader St. Thomas last Saturday night in Mound, Minn. The Pipers held the powerful Tommies to just 22 shots on goal while firing 18 of their own.

They will face another team that is stingy on defense this weekend. The Raiders, who made it to the NCAA tournament last year with a 22-3-1 record, have given up just seven goals in is their current six-game unbeaten streak that has improved their 2012-13 standard to 8-3-1 overall. They have won their only two games against MIAC foes, sweeping Bethel 4-2 and 3-2 three weeks ago.

Last year, the Pipers gave MSOE all they wanted before dropping a 2-1 decision.

This is the final game of the 2012 portion of Hamline's schedule.
