Women's BB Team Looks For Two In A Row Saturday at Bethel

Rachel Usgaard UT

Winning streaks start slowly ... one at a time. The Piper women's bb team, fresh off its first win of the season Wednesday against Augsburg, will look to make start such a streak when they travel to Arden Hills Saturday to face Bethel. Game time at Robertson Center is 1:00 p.m.

Hamline (1-5 overall, 1-3 MIAC)  had its best defensive effort of the season in a 65-57 win over the Auggies. They got the offense they needed from Kara Poirier (who had a season high 19 points), Steph Pilgrim (12 points) and Jordan Sammons (10 points, 12 rebounds). But they also held the Auggies to just 39 per cent shooting from the field and clamped down hard on three-pointers, limiting the visitors to just 4-for-18 from long distance.

They'll face a Bethel team (0-5, 0-4) that has struggled offensively, averaging just 47.8 points per game. The Royals, however, have played some solid defense. Their 61.2 ppg against mark is in the middle of the pack in the MIAC.

The Piper have one more game before the holiday break. They will play at Northwestern (MN) on December 14 at 5:00 p.m.
