Piper Women Hoping Home Court Advantage Will Propel Them To First Win

Kara-JeNaya

A year ago, a home court victory over Augsburg was one of the signature moments of the season, Will history repeat itself Wednesday night? Women's BB coach Kerri Stockwell and her players hope so when the Auggies visit Hutton Arena for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Hamline is 0-5 overall, 0-3 in the MIAC. They have the lead in all five games played so far and have, at times, shown moments of brilliance. On Monday night in Winona, the backcourt tandem of Kara Poirier and JeNaya Brown (pictured) performed admirably in a 62-53 loss to unbeaten St. Mary's. Poirier scored a season high 13 points while brown had eight markers and seven rebounds. Steph Pilgrim also had a solid night with 12 points and seven rebounds.

HU trailed only 27-24 at halftime and rallied to take the lead in the second half. But the Cardinals, the surprise team in the early going, came back to reclaim the lead and go on to the win.

Augsburg comes to Hutton with a 3-2 overall mark, 1-2 in the MIAC.

The Pipers also play this Saturday at Bethel in a 3:00 p.m. game.
