Less than 24 hours after crashing into the boards and missing nearly a period of action, Chelsea Koehn was back on the ice in style. On Friday night, she missed most of the third period after falling heavily into the board at Warner Coliseum. Saturday afternoon, however, she took a Corinne Henning pass for her fourth goal of the season at 2:47 of the third period to lift the Pipers into a 1-1 tie with Bethel. It also lifted Koehn into the team lead for points with seven.
For the game, Koehn had five shots on goal, tops on the Pipers.
The Royals, however, struck back less than three minutes later and added an empty net marker for a 3-1 win and a series sweep of Hamline, which fell to 1-7-1 overall, 0-5-1 in the MIAC.
Sarah Schneekloth had 15 saves in goal for HU.
The Pipers are off next weekend and return to action for a non-conference series at Marian, December 14-15.
