FB Team Struggles Offensively In Loss To St. John's

Hamline's banged up offense struggled most of the day  in a 55-10 loss to St. John's at Klas Field Saturday. With starting QB Kevin Ackerley and his backup Zach Brautigam out with injuries, the Pipers were able to complete just three passes all day. Austin Duncan fought his way to 71 yards rushing (on 16 carries) to improve to 780 for the season.

Patrick Page continued his excellence on defense, recording 18 tackles (seven unassisted) to run his season total to 111.

SJU scored the first TD of the day but John Broback responded with a 38 yard field goal to cut it to 7-3. The visitors then took command, scoring the next 41 points. Ryan Ferkinhoff (pictured) scored the lone Piper TD on a one yard run in the fourth quarter.

Hamline (1-8 overall, 0-8 MIAC) wraps up the 2012 season at Klas Field next Saturday with a non-conference game against Macalester. game time in the battle for The Bucket is 1:00 p.m.
