Mark Berkson, a professor of religion, has a chapter published in a volume entitled The Reception and Rendition of Freud in China: China's Freudian Slip (Routledge).  The chapter is called "Xunzi's Reinterpretation of Ritual: A Challenge to Freud's Critique of Religion."  This work grew out of a conference presentation Berkson gave at the first International Conference on Freud and China at Rutgers.
