The Piper swimming teams have more depth to it than in recent years. In a way, that depth gets an immediate test on October 20 when they partake in the annual Augsburg Pentathlon held at St. Catherine's. The format is different than the usual meets. Teams are required to swim in five events -- 100 fly ,100 back , 100 breast , 100 free and 200 IM. Scores are based on timing with the top finisher getting the lowest number of points. Augsburg, Macalester, Simpson and St. Catherine's are also expected to compete in the event.
