On a cold night, it figured the first break in the game would be important. Alas, the Piper men's soccer team didn't get the break they were looking for. Hamline sent six shots at St. Mary's but the Cardinals got the last word with a goal in the 84th minute that produced a 1-0 setback.

The Pipers unloaded 14 shots with Michael Ramirez and Connor Benson leading with two each. Hamline fell to 2-9-1 overall, 0-6 in the MIAC.

Eric Feil had seven saves in goal for Hamline, which returns home next Wednesday to Patterson Field to host Gustavus.
