Pipers Place Three on Men's Hockey All-MIAC team

Like winning an Oscar, being named to the All-MIAC team never gets old. Three Piper seniors -- Brian Arrigoni, Beau Christian and Jordan VanGilder -- caught the eye of the MIAC hockey coaches and have been named to the All-Conference team. It is the third straight season that Arrigoni and Christian have been named to the elite group and the second year in a row for VanGilder. Only St. Olaf had more representatives on the All-MIAC team.

Arrigoni tied for the overall league lead in Goals with 14 and was part of a three-way tie for points with 28. VanGilder was part of that second place logjam for points and also stood second in Assists with 17. Christian was red-hot down the stretch in goal. At one point, he held opponents scoreless for nearly 190 minutes, He had two complete game shutouts and only allowed 10 goals in his last seven starts.

Two first year Pipers -- defenseman Joe Rubbelke and forward Nick Widing -- drew Honorable Mention. Rubbelke tied for third among all defensemen points with 17. His 14 assists ranked second overall among blueliners. Widing led all first year players in goals with nine and was tied  for ninth overall in points with 14. Senior blueliner Tim Olson is the Pipers' representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.
