Last Sunday, Brennan McKeag rested ... for good reason. He had been very busy the day before.
Competing in the Tostrud Invitational at St. Olaf, McKeag heaved the weight 18.84 meters, a new school record of 61-09.75 feet. It not only won the event but it was a personal best by more than two feet. It also is the ninth best throw this year in all of Division III.
Accordingly, McKeag joined teammates Andrew Schlichting and Shaise Schuette as MIAC Field Athletes Of the Week. It is the third time he has been so honored. He won this award twice last year.
The Pipers' strong field contingent has one more dress rehearsal prior to the conference indoor meet next weekend. They will be at Macalester this Friday for a Pre-Conference meet.
