The Hamline Track and Field teams were in fine form Friday at the St. Thomas Invitational. Although no scores were kept, the Pipers finished with impressive results. Both teams claimed six victories on the afternoon.
Maria Theisen got the women going with a 3:06.89 effort in the 1000 Meter Run. Carly Braun and Stephanie Jenkins went 1-2 in the Pole Vault. Both cleared 2.98m. Braun was awarded first based on most successful jumps. Brenna Coyle heaved the Weight 16.89m. Hamline's 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 Meter Relay teams edged the host school to win both races.
On the men's side, Arthur Moore nipped teammate Eric Hanson to win the 55 Meter Hurdles. Christian Willman took the 400 Meter Dash in 51.36. (Willman was also second in the 200 Meter Dash.) Kegan Sunderland leaped 6.08m to claim the Long Jump crown. Brennan McKeag, Joe Morelli and Ben Dvorak went 1-2-3 to sweep the Shot Put. McKeag's winning effort was 16.04m. Andrew Schlichting edged out Mckeag by tossing the Weight 18.03m. Jack Deichert edged teammates Chris Reisdorfer and Brendan Ruter for the 1000 Meter Run title.
