Sammons Scores 19 But Pipers Can't Hold Back Tommies

Jordan Sammons had a game high 19 points but St. Thomas' speed was too much to handle Wednesday night at Hutton Arena. The Pipers fell to the league leaders, 79-56. HU is now 4-13, 3-11 in the MIAC. the Tommies have won all 14 of their MIAC games and 16 in a row to improve to 16-1.

In addition to Sammons' scoring, Kara Poirier fired in a dozen points, including a pair of three-pointers. The Pipers welcome the return of Stephanie Rice to the lineup. Rice, who had missed two games due to injury, played 28 minutes and scored five points. 

Hamline trailed 44-27 at halftime. In the second half, they played the Tommies tighter and were only outscored 35-29.

HU returns to action Saturday at St. Catherine's. game time is 3:00 p.m.
