The Piper offense ran into a solid wall Saturday in the form of St. Catherine's goalie Samantha Geissler. HU held a slight 21-20 edge in shots on goal but Geissler held firm to stick the Pipers with a 2-0 non-conference loss Saturday afternoon at Ridder Arena. Hamline is 4-7-2 overall.
HU goalie Nicole Jones had 18 saves, including 10 in the final period.
But the Wildcats connected for single tallies in the first and second periods and that proved to be enough.
After a seven week break, HU (0-5-1 MIAC) finally gets back into league action next Friday when they host Augsburg at Warner Coliseum. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
