Three Piper CC Runners Named To All-Region Team

The honors keep pouring in for Hamline's Cross Country teams. By virtue of their high finishes last weekend, three HU runners have been named to the USTFCCA (United States Track & Field And Cross Country Association) NCAA Division III All-Region team.

Jack Deichert and Ellis Richardson were named to the men's team while Sara Holland made it for the women's contingent.

The top 35 finishers in each race make the team. Deichert. a senior from Golden Valley, Minn. finished second and Richardson, a senior from Shoreview, Minn. was third last Saturday for the HU men's team. The Pipers finished third overall in the race but were awarded an at-large berth and will be running this Saturday at the NCAA Division III Championship Meet in Winneconne, Wis. Two other HU runners -- Colin Rogers and Devin Monson -- narrowly missed the team by finishing 37th and 39th respectively.

Holland ran 33rd in her meet, the top HU runner for a team that finished 15th in a field of 26 squads. The Dousman, Wis. senior  was a mere four seconds from cracking the top 30.
