On a perfect afternoon for running, Hamline's men's CC team ran third and the women fourth at the annual Fall Finale meet in Collegeville, Minn. Charles Schweitzer was the top Piper runner in the 8K race, finishing 16th with a time of 26:51. David Ohman (27:22) finished in 23rd, four seconds ahead of teammate Chris Gill. Shane Harlow was 27th (27:35) and Ryan Patterson came in 36th (28:03). As a team, HU finished with 73 points, nine behind the host school, St. John's. HU finished ahead of league rivals Bethel and Gustavus.
Kaitlyn Frenchick led the HU women runners with a 15th place finish. She toured the 5K course in a time of 20:05. Claire Walling was a close 17th (20:13). Cassie Ernst finished 26th (20:28), followed by Hillary Murphy in 29th (20:34) and Hannah Toedter at 31st place (20:37). With 101 points, HU was just seven points behind Gustavus.
