Hamline University athletes earned 33 spots on the 2010-11 Academic All-Conference lists, the MIAC office announced on July 12th.

The MIAC recognized an impressive 454 student-athletes from its sponsored winter and spring sports with Academic All-Conference distinction. That is the most in conference history, eclipsing last year's total of 432 winter and spring selections. Combined with this fall's total of 305 honorees, the MIAC recognized a total of 759 Academic All-Conference selections in 2010-11, which is a new benchmark for total Academic All-Conference honorees in one year. Academically, student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition.

Athletically, student-athletes in team sports must compete in 50 percent of their team’s regular-season varsity contests. Swimming and diving student-athletes must qualify for the conference finals to be eligible and track and field student-athletes must finish in the top eight in an individual event or be on a top-three relay team at the MIAC Championships to be eligible for the honor. The team sports eligible were baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's hockey, softball and men's and women's tennis.
