President of Hamline University, Dr.
Linda Hanson, was recognized by the Minneapolis/St.
Paul Business Journal as one of 25 outstanding leaders of industry at the
publication’s annual Women in Business Awards ceremony.
An article in the Business Journal praising
Dr. Hanson’s accomplishments stated “as Hamline first female president, Linda Hanson has made enormous strides
in the five years since she took on that role. Under her leadership, the
university’s enrollment has grown in nearly every program, she launched the
university’s school of business — complete with an MBA program — and
restructured the school of education. And all that was only part of her
progress.
Hanson also led the university through
a comprehensive strategic plan, and at the same time, guided the opening of ‘Hamline
University Minneapolis,’ a thriving remote campus for business and education
students. The school also broke ground recently on a University Center at its Saint
Paul campus, to help meet the need for more student community space. She’s
ushered in new programs, such as a master of fine arts in writing for children
and young adults and launched a Health Law Institute, the first of its kind in
the Upper Midwest.”
