Pipers fall to Saints despite several close matches

The host College of St. Scholastica took a 9-0 victory over the visiting Pipers, but the score didn't indicate the competitiveness of the match, as several contests came down to the wire in Duluth.

In doubles play, Kelsey Eatherton (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Nora McGraw (Sr., Hutchinson, Minn.) dropped an 8-5 match at first doubles. Nicole Krier (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) and Carissa Wallerich (Fy., West Salem, Wis.) then lost a close 8-6 match by a service break at third doubles.

In singles, Krier took her opponent at fourth singles to a third set super-breaker, falling 4-6, 6-4, 5-10. Wallerich lost at sixth singles, 3-6, 2-6.

Hamline drops to 0-2 overall with the non-conference loss. The Saints are now 4-0 overall.
