Pipers drop season opener to #27 Knights

The Hamline University women's tennis team faced a tough opponent in their season opener, going up against #17-ranked Carleton College and dropping the match 9-0.

Nicole Krier (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) and Carissa Wallerich (Fy., West Salem, Wis.) put up the toughest battle in doubles, falling by a service break at the third position, 8-6.

Elizabeth Allen (Jr., Menesha, Wis.) had the closest set of play in singles competition, losing 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles.

Hamline opens the season at 0-1, 0-1 MIAC. The Knights are 3-0, 2-0 MIAC.
