The Hamline University women's tennis team dropped just one game in doubles play en route to a 9-0 victory over the University of Minnesota-Morris on Friday night.
Kelsey Eatherton (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Carissa Wallerich (Fy., West Salem, Wis.) teamed up at first doubles for the 8-1 win.
A pair of 8-0 matches were won by Nicole Krier (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) and Kristen Kiemele (Sr., Eagan, Minn.) at second doubles and by Anna Yarbrough (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn.) and Elizabeth Allen (Jr., Menesha, Wis.) at third doubles.
In singles play, Eatherton played a tie-breaker in the first set before cruising through the second set, 7-6 (9-7), 6-1.
Kiemele had a close first set decided by a service break before easily winning the second, 6-4, 6-1.
Yarbrough (second singles) and Wallerich (fifth singles) won their matches 6-0, 6-0 while Krier (fourth singles) and Allen (sixth singles) each dropped a game in the opening set.
Hamline is now 3-3 overall while the Cougars open the season at 0-1. The Pipers will next play in Florida on Sunday, March 20, when they open their spring break trip against George Fox at 9:00 a.m.
