Trio of Piper gymnasts qualify for nationals

Lissette LaFex (So., Diamond Bar, Calif.) leads the charge for Hamline after winning both the all-around and uneven bars championships at the regional meet this past weekend.

In route to winning the all-around title in the meet at UW-Stout, LaFex set a new school record total score of 37.975 (vault-9.400, bars-9.700, beam-9.375, floor-9.500). LaFex also twice set the new school record score on the uneven parallel bars, most recently at 9.775.

Courtney Benson (Fy., Winona, Minn.) will also represent the Pipers as an all-arounder. She tallied a season-high total score of 37.00 (vault-9.600, bar-9.000, beam-8.725, floor-9.675) at the regional meet.

Erika Degnan (Fy., Winona, Minn.) will represent the Pipers on the vault. She had a season-best score of a 9.525 at regionals.
