Branigan (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) finished the race one minute and
three seconds after overall winner Stephanie Perleberg of UW- La
Crosse.
Fellow Piper classmate Kate Drinane (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) joined
her in the top 15 by finishing 11th with a time of 19:48. Jessica
Kocisak (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.) rounded out the top 25 by crossing the
finish line at 20:11.
Sara Holland (So., Dousman, Wis.) completed the race 27th with a time
of 20:32, and her fellow sophomore Carolyne Bocovich (So., Andover,
Minn.) finished 34th, crossing the finish line at 20:58.
Seniors Rachel Glissman (Sr., Omaha, Neb.) and Rachel Simmer
(Champlin Park, Minn.) rounded out the finishes for the Pipers placing
34th and 38th respectively. Glissman completed the race in 21:12, while
Simmer completed it five seconds later.
The overall performance by the women’s cross country team today was
good enough to earn a fourth place finish overall out of eight teams,
with a score of 101. UW-La Crosse, Luther College, and UW- Eau Claire
finished head of the Pipers with scores of 41, 45, and 98 respectively.
UW-River Falls, Iowa Central Community College, Grand View
University, and the Luther College Alumni team, all finished behind
Hamline.
The Pipers women’s cross country team with next compete on Saturday,
September 26, at the Lest Bolstad Gold Course in the Roy Griak
Invitational.
The 6K race will be hosted by the University of Minnesota. It is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
