Student Bar Association honors Jim Morrow and Deb Lange

Student Bar Association President Jeff Boucher announced that Professor Jim Morrow has been voted 2010-2011 Professor of the Year and Program Administrator Deb Lange has been voted Administrator of the Year. The results are based on ballots submitted by students in the 2011 Spring SBA General Election.

Professor Morrow's passion is teaching and he has more than 30 years of experience teaching law students. He also teaches lawyers and judges. He has taught attorneys evidence and trial/appellate advocacy at prominent Minnesota law firms since 1989. He is a Senior Judge and actively serves as a trial judge in Minnesota. His background as a trial judge and former U.S. Federal Prosecutor allows Professor Morrow to bring real-life examples to the classroom.

Professor Morrow is also coaching the Hamline team of Katie Lockwood and Kelly Rodgers as it prepares for the 2011 National Trial Competition in Houston April 6 to 10. Lockwood and Rodgers defeated teams from Drake University, the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin-Madison to win the regional competition and earn the trip to Houston. The team will be one of 28 teams from around the nation vying for the national championship. Professor Morgan Holcomb is coaching with Professor Morrow.

Deb Lange joined Hamline Law in 2001, her first assignment being to help launch the Weekend JD program, including working in both admissions and marketing. Since then, her portfolio has grown to include managing a wide variety of programs and events, including orientation, graduation banquet, symposia, court visits, LL.M. admissions and other special events that occasionally pop up. This past year, she took over the scheduling for all non-academic rooms inside the law school.
