Hamline Law team to compete for National Trial title

After sweeping the Region 9 championship last month, the Hamline team of Katie Lockwood and Kelly Rodgers is preparing for the 2011 National Trial Competition in Houston April 6 to 10.  Lockwood and Rodgers defeated teams from Drake University, the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin-Madison to earn the trip to Houston.  The team will be one of28 teams from around the nation vying for the national championship.  The competition is sponsored each year by the Texas Young Lawyers Association  

Hamline was also well represented at the regional competition by the team of Douglas Birk and Daphne Ponds, which had strong showings against formidable teams from Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Minnesota.   

The Hamline teams were coached by Hamline Law Professors James Morrow and Morgan Holcomb; and by Shawn Seiler from the law firm of Gislason, Martin, Varpness & Janes, P.A.
